"In 2009, I was lucky enough to spend some time with my dear friend Wataru Osako back in his hometown in Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan. As part of our stay the very talented Ryo Nakata invited us to hang out and play a show in Sapporo. On a wonderful night of music we all performed alongside jealousguy and a certain artist called 'fifto'. That night, we were all blown away by this artist who was completely unknown outside of the excellent minimal electronica scene in Sapporo. The music of Keigo Igarashi (aka fifto) reminds me in many ways of the fantastically catchy melodies of Aoki Takamasa, whilst also showing a great ability for experimentalism in the most honest of ways. 'with miur' perfectly captures that fine line between the elusive, yet close and accessible. All the way back in 2009, 'this curved' (as it finally became) felt like an instant classic, and to this day retains its amazing beauty as one of the key tracks on such a superb album." (label info)
