"Helen Jahren's virtuoso solo recitals at many festivals abroad, her concert programs and numerous recordings for gramophone and broadcasting has given the oboe a position it did not use to have in the Nordic countries. Her interest in new music and enthusiasm for working with composers has resulted in that about 50 new works have been dedicated to her.
