IWAMOTO, HIROSHI - RESORT-VIEW (CD)

"A Solo Project by Hiroshi Iwamoto. Features guest artists mondii and Headphones Remote. Hiroshi Iwamoto started to make music under the influence of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Ennio Morricone, Dip In The Pool (The first Japanese band to sign with UK's Rough Trade in the 80's) and these kind of Bossa Nova and music for films. He released his debut album in 1998 as a pop duo Coral In Space which includes guest appearances from Dip In The Pool and Donna Regina from Germany. In 2005, he released his 1st solo album "Resort - View" from Novel Sounds. The concept of this album is "instrumental music for beautiful landscapes". Mainly using the guitars, you could hear various elements crossing over such as jazz, new age, bossa nova, samba and electronica to create his one and only world of sounds. And the pure clean guitar tones throughout the album reminds you of the Cocteaw Twins (4AD) and Felt (Cheery Red) - the great bands who established definitive aesthetics in the 80's UK independent music scene."
