"Gospel, Bulgarian choir singing tradition or a Hardcore Choir, HORKESKART. It all started in Belgrade in the autumn of the year 2000. A new amateur choir & orchestra group was formed for the presentation of remarkably talented art and design group SKART's unique project named "YOUR SHIT - YOUR RESPONSIBILITY". The project had purpose of raising the level of public consciousness and personal responsibility by means of contemporary art and music. Informed by Radio B92 announcement, all who came to audition were accepted, their gift for music not being checked. Before long, they evolved into an unparalleled punk band that has 45 singers. HORKESKART's repertoire ranges from some "revolution" & "reconstruction" songs of the 40s and 50s Yugoslavia, mostly erased from the national radio archive, to scored poetry, chansons, punk songs and covers. So far they have gigged in a variety of places: orphanages, streets, refugee camps, rural elementary schools, but also in the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade and on the "Ring-Ring" festival of modern music. This album mainly consists of songs recorded at Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart during the German Tour in 2005. As for the Bulgarian choir singing tradition impact, let us be aware of its instinctive power. Gospel music functions in the community not only as religious music but as collective consciousness."
