SAMMES & THE MIKE SAMMES SINGERS, MIKE - Music For Biscuits (Lost Advertising & Rare Film Sounds) (CD)

"MIKE SAMMES and his so called MIKE SAMMES SINGERS were the leading vocal harmony group of the 1960s and 1970s, They appear on The White Album, they sung with Sinatra, Streisand, Sammy Davis, most major LPs of the period have the Sammes sound sitting in the background. They even sung the spooky devil-like moans in Rosemary's Baby... Music for Biscuits is the album of the lost tapes, found after his lonely death in 2004. There are 37 tracks in all (the CD has a further 9 hidden cues) ranging from insane, catchy adverts for biscuits, ciggies and mopeds to awe inspiring vocal harnmonies and scats about tractors - yes, tractors. lThe CD also includes five cues from a lost film simply called "Youth". The music here is of the very highest quality, there is skill, humour and madness that only the 1960s and 1970s could muster. The story behind the recordings is a tragic one, and is recounted in full detail throughout the extensive CD liner notes. But the end result is a cheerful, entertaining and inspiring one. Music for Bisuits really is a very sweet treat." (LABEL INFO)
