"This, Colemans second album, recorded in 1959 in Los Angeles was produced by one of Colemans early supporters, Lester Koenig of the great Contemporary Records, and features Don Cherry on trumpet, Percy Heath / Red Mitchell on bass and Shelly Manne on drums. It was during this time that Colemans career began to take off, thanks in part to John Lewis of the Modern Jazz Quartet who got Coleman and Cherry spots at the School of Jazz in Lenox, Massachusetts.
