CINC - POLYPHONIC POETRY (CD)

"A neo alternative folk band from Serbia, CINC was praised by Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins) for the previous album "Shine of Wot?" as "Beguiling". In this time, they made a unique enthusiastic album in the motif of classic poetries. Used poetries by a medieval poet Francois Rabelais, Francois Villon, Goethe, Baudelaire etc. as lyrics adventurously, but the songs (in English, Serbian, French, German, Czech and Japanese) are very refreshing. The members are changed from the previous album, now they are mainly four persons (Djordje Ilic: acoustic guitar, vocals / Luka Stanisavljevic: bass, vocals / Irena Vanic: vocals / Srdjan Stojanovic: violin, vocals). Male & female vocals on guitar, bass, violin, steel pan, rhythm machine and percussions are well-balanced so that they music is natural & friendly very much. With funny stuff like Karate terms that Irena Vanic sings, kazoo & mouth harp, humor and beauty are mixed intellectually. With two bonus tracks which was recorded at Panonija TV, Novi Sad, Serbia in April 2005." (label info)
