DILL - DANCE MUSIC FOR CONTEMPORARY DANCE & BUTOH SHOW (CD)

"Dill made his debut in February 2003 from Flyrec (known for releasing artists such as Kuchiroro, Hidenobu Ito, Kazumasa Hashimoto, Mas) with the album "WYHIWYG". This new album "Dance music-for contemporary dance & butoh shows- " from WEATHER features 8 tracks with over 50 minutes of music. It encompasses Dill's recent composition for contemporary dance pieces such as Tsuyoshi Shirai's solo dance performance "mass, slide, &." and Kim Ito's "Kinjiki", plus other unreleased material. Featured musicians are Teruyuki Oshima from sim, Yoshio Ootani from sim/mas, and Seigen Tokusawa from anonymass. These tracks abound with beauty as stand-alone musical pieces, and show that Dill is the next great talent to appear since sound creators such as Nobukazu Takemura and Yoshihiro Hanno. Though this music was composed for contemporary dance performances, each song is full of innovative ideas and rich musical elements that will mesmerize your ears. The imaginary soundscapes on this album can be compared to Nobukazu Takemura's exhibition music ("Milan and "Finale") and Yoshihiro Hanno's "April", with its elegant, sublime, and at times haunting sounds. This music will enchant you, whether or not you are a fan of contemporary dance." (label info)
