SODAHBERK, DWAYNE - FJÄRILSFALU (LP)
""Fjärilsfalu" is the fourth album from Dwayne Sodahberk (aka Daniel Söderberg), recorded mostly out in the woods during the last few years. It's ten sad, warped little pop songs; beautiful melodies, growing from hypnotic, untidy monotony. The tangled birdnests of acoustic instruments are lead through walls of noise by the quiet vocals of Sodahberk. Guitars are the main instrument, sometimes accompanied by barely tamed homebuilt electronics or piano or other things that have been at hand, sometimes by primitive, restless rhythms. It's folky, in the sense of a smelly, toothless old man standing by himself in the corner, squeeling away on his violin, deaf to the world. And it's pop because the songs rarely pass 3 minutes and at times are catchy as hell. Besides a full universe to love, the title itself is worth your ear, eyes and nose." (label info)
