NIGGEMANN, KAI - CLIMATE AND VIOLENCE (CD)

"Climate and Violence is the follow-up album to Kai Niggemann's successful solo debut HEART MURMUR (WAF80/Kalakuta Soul). Again he creates an experimental music project that emerged from a soundtrack to a performance. The music is a vivid thought process on the boundaries between nature and culture, on the demarcation line between humans and the world, and on the effects of human action on nature and culture, and ultimately on global warming. It is an electronic fermata that attempts to trigger a pause and a pause and/or a step into action. At times, the music is almost at a standstill, drones and steady state, at times hectic, torn and even danceable - but full of questions. How will it continue? What is the next step? Where is the journey going? Will humankind be able to even survive all this? But in all of its darkness still lies a spark of hope. The music is comforting, has plenty of cracks to let the light shine through and it builds up momentum right out of the subconscious." (label info)
