"This is the first studio album in eight years to emerge from the partnership of Cologne and Berlin based electronic duo Markus Detmer and Timo Reuber, aka Klangwart. It arises from an ongoing live experiment they've been conducting for some years. The progress of 'Stadtlandfluss', however, is less in flux, and has more of a narrative arc. 'Zwei Töne' is like the 'birthing' of the album, two tones swimming like sperm, followed by the binary bickering of 'IO'. Then comes 'Radio', in which the album really fans out, ascending towards 'Telemann', a veritable hurricane of oscillating soundwaves, before the happy ending that is 'Mein Herz, mein Haus'. An alternative route, this, to euphoria." (David Stubbs)
