P. MILES BRYSON - ALEJANDRO'S CARNICERIA (CD)

"Inspired by the enigmatic and surrealistic films of Alejandro Jodorowsky, P. Miles Bryson has masterfully assembled the hidden soundtrack to the filmmaker's psyche. Borrowing liberally from Jodorowsky's films and environmental recordings of downtown Guymas in Mexico, Bryson creates a series of musical vignettes. Spanish guitars, gunshots, children at play, mariachi bands, dialogue, and a host of other sounds are all gently mixed (and occasionaly processed) into a magical Latino-flavored album. The packaging for this release resembles Mexican spice packaging (as typically marketed in the U.S.) and even includes a few arbol chilis." (label info)
