SCIORTINO, PATRICE - PERCUPULSIONS / GYMNORHYTHMIES 1 (CD)

"Avant-Primitivism and baroque lyricism collide on Patrice Sciortino's unknown and underappreciated "Percupulsions". Recorded late 1969 and released on the French 'Neuilly' library imprint in 1970, the album is delightful, mysterious and strangely accessible - jarring percussion jostles with tape manipulations, abstract melodies, spacious disconcerting harpsichords and extended techniques. A few years later Sciortino cut the inventive "Gymnorythmies 1", an album of polymorphous individualism intended to accompany contemporary dance/gymnastics (it even came with an instructional booklet). Both LPs are reissued for the very first with a raft of intriguing and rare extra tracks. Superbly remastered from the original tapes and presented with exclusive liner notes and rare photos from the composer's own collection." (label info) 44 track CD, comes with 20 pages full colour booklet
