"Sort Mel (translates: black flour) is a mysterious duo from the norwegian countryside. On a dissident farm that barely even the postman knows, they make top class plunder music. Once in a while, they put their best clothes on and go to the city to trawl fleamarkets and second hand shops for obscure early norwegian pop music. Sort Mel brings back the times when music really meant something (it meant getting it on). Sort Mel are half archeologists and half pirates. Very diligent but not verypolite. The trawling two boils the handpicked choice of old 78s into a new brew of music. Unlike most plunderphonies, Sort Mel is more focused on the final output than the process. They make music. Good music." (label info)
