"The album contains the work of seventeen individuals and one group, including eight female musicians and fourteen male musicians . The album was initially titled « China Feedback», but I was prompted by Yan Jun to ask whether the use of the word 'China' was too grandiose. Indeed, at first, I only thought of emphasising the concept of geography to present a state of affairs by gathering artists and works that use feedback in China, but grandiose is not the original intention, nor is it possible to encompass all artists and works in China, and at the same time, I did not intend to make a conclusive collection, and it is perhaps too early to judge whether feedback, whether as a method or a concept, has already formed an independent phenomenon that can be explicitly described in China. So the title was changed to « Feedbacking », indicating a kind of ongoing process, which translates to « Feedbacking » in English, and the subtitle was added to indicate a geographical demarcation. I hope this is more objective and accurate, while still retaining the perspective of a group practice that can be observed and even studied under the concept of geography." (label info)
